THIERRY HENRY WITH ARSENE WENGER |
From the ones who assist to the ones who score, Arsene Wenger with the transformation of Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie proved that wingers can certainly become strikers.
Well, that's in the past.
More recently, we see players like Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge wanting to play down the centre rather than on the wings. Whilst both were given a chance in that position, it seems only one has been able to consistently impress.

THEO WALCOTT AND DANIEL STURRIDGE ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY |
What Sturridge lacks in pace (in comparison to Theo's),he more than makes up for with his technical abilities. Something far more desirable in a striker than blinding speed. Sturridge with his technical abilities is able to hold the ball up far better than Walcott is.
However, from the few performances this season, it is seen that Walcott is improving on his technical abilities. This combined with his astute finishing and ability to find spaces behind the opposition's defence will certainly make him a contender for the striking role by next season.

MARCO REUS OF BVB |
Another player who could play well as a striker is Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. The man utilised primarily on the wing, and occasionally deployed as a support striker, returned a fine tally of almost 20 goals last season. It wouldn't be surprising if he were to be deployed as the main striker when Lewandowski leaves and Dortmund are unable to sign an apt replacement and Julian Schieber's form doesn't improve.
